Foundation for Social Awareness is a not to profit organisation promoted by a few like-minded individuals to focus on social issues afflicting the society. It is headed by a former bureaucrat Mr. IYR Krishna Rao IAS (Retd.) who retired as chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh. Other members include prominent chartered accountants leading journalists and others with a concern for issues of social relevance.
Organisation is interested in issues like transparency in public administration, decentralization in development, social justice in political spectrum and elimination of corruption in public life.
Foundation for Social Awareness published the book “Whose Capital Amaravathi?” written by Sri IYR Krishna Rao, president of the organisation. Organisation in collaboration with like-minded institutions and enterprises has conducted seminar on decentralised development and social justice in political spectrum at Tirupati on TTD and its functioning and on the need to locate high court in Rayalaseema.
There were series of meetings organized ay Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vizag Andhra Pradesh for a debate on the books written by the chairman I.Y.R. Krishna Rao “Whose Capital Amaravathi?”, “Navyandhra My Journey” and “This That and Everything”.
On 27th April 2020, the foundation has started a panel discussion on socially economically relevant issues.
